LARI focuses on the design and construction of DC-DC, AC-DC or DC-AC switching converters. In addition, distributed generation systems and converters' design for renewable energies' conditioning is another of the tasks developed within the group.

The design of new converters' topologies for power processing together with their respective digital or analog control by linear and non-linear techniques is in LARI another task in which continuous innovation is achieved.

Finally, the design of intelligent networks based on power converters developed by the group, constitutes one of the most recent lines of research in LARI.
